Interested in Fundraising at the Arena?
The Gas South Arena in Duluth allows teams to work concession stands for a percentage of sales. In other words, YOU (parents, 16+ yr old kids, family, etc) have the opportunity to fundraise for band dues and fees year round!
How it works:
1. Join the Arena chat on BoosterHub. If you need are having trouble with it, please
contact jamieleeof3@gmail.com (Jamie Lee) or oasisdulce@yahoo.com (Ana Tibor).
2. The schedule for the following month is posted on the Arena BoosterHub Chat about 1-2 weeks prior to that month (earlier if available) usually with a pretty tight deadline.
- Look for “Open” blocks, those are the slots that are available for the taking. The number to the right indicates how many people are needed for the booth.
- Send in your date requests and how many people will be in your team. Keep in mind that all booths must have at least one 18 yr old (for liquor/beer service).
- Here you will find a sample schedule of events that the Arena will provide. Carefully review:
- Name of event, date, and type of event
- Report time (when you/volunteers arrive to begin booth setup/inventory)
- Door time (when event guests are allowed in the building)
- Event time (when the show begins)
- Expected end time (estimated end time for volunteers, after all inventory and clean up completed)
3. Once all requests have been received, these are then sent to our Gas South Arena representative.
4. Confirmations of assignments are then shared on the Arena BoosterHub Chat as soon as they’ve been received from Gas South Arena. Please keep in mind that although confirmed, the Gas South Arena reserves the right to close booths based on overall event ticket sales. We will communicate these changes as soon as possible.
5. Make sure to block yourself from the “Report Time” to the “End Time”. You must be on time and work the full shift.
6. Shifts will be allocated in as fair a way as possible. We will track cancelled shifts (by Gas South Arena) and overall earnings. Our goal is to get as many people to work and earn funds for the band and the kids.
7. Uniform: black pants (no leggings, spandex material, sweatpants) and white t-shirt (you are issued a Proof of the Pudding shirt to wear over it); closed toed black slip resistant shoes (make sure they are comfortable, you are on your feet the entire time); no hats; hair net (for everyone); black apron (issued at check in); name tag and volunteer lanyard (issued at check in)
8. Bag policy (1 small clear bag per booth team, no exceptions). Any volunteers with extra belongings can store those items in the lockers located in the check-in room.
Please keep in mind that any deviation from the schedule, uniform, Gas South Arena policies or just general behavior can get this opportunity pulled for the entire organization.
9. Sales sheets are received from Gas South Arena at least 30 days after the close of the working month. Once commissions are received from Gas South Arena, commission funds are applied to the student accounts within another 30 days or less. You will be notified of the amounts due to the student, but the funds may not be available until a later date.
