Weekly Band Email - March 10, 2025

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT LGPE

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Tingle will be out on Tuesday, March 11. The 7th period Concert Band will not attend LGPE Tuesday. Students should plan to go home their normal way. Students will not need to bring their concert wear to school Tuesday morning. As of now there are not plans to reschedule since we had the pre-LGPE concert last week. Our next concert for the 7th period will be the Spring Band Concert on May 1st at LHS in the theater. 

There are no changes to the Symphonic Band or Symphonic Winds schedules at this time.

• Wednesday March 12
• Symphonic Band (5th Period)
• 2:10pm Students report to band room after school and change into concert attire
• 3:30pm Depart Lanier HS on buses
• 3:45pm Arrive BHS
• 4:15pm Watch other bands perform
• 6:00pm Warm Up
• 6:30pm Performance! Parents are welcome to attend and watch!
• 7:00pm Sightreading performance
• 7:15pm Students dismissed from Buford High School. We will not take a bus back to Lanier High School. Students will need a ride to pick them up between 7:15 and 7:45pm in front of the BHS performing arts building.
• Symphonic Winds (4th period)
• 7:15pm All students arrive at Buford High School. We will not take a bus from Lanier to Buford. Students will need their ride to drop them off at Buford High School in front of the performing arts building. Plenty of parking will be available if parents would like to stay and watch!
• 8:00pm Warm-up
• 8:30pm Performance!
• 9:15pm Sightreading performance
• 9:30pm Students dismissed from Buford High School immediately following the Sight-reading performance. Students will need a ride to pick them up no later than 9:45pm from Buford High School.

Band Booster Board Elections

Nominations must be submitted by 9:00 PM on March 30, 2025 to be considered.

Elections will be held at the Parent Meeting in April 2025, date TBD.

Band Banquet

Join us on April 28th at 6:00 PM for the 2024-2025 Band Banquet Dinner!  Dinner will be a Mexican Taco Bar including: Premium ground beef, shredded chicken, hard and soft shells, Mexican rice, refried beans, tortilla chips, and all the toppings!  Dessert and awards ceremony will follow, starting at 6:45 PM.

-Cost per person - $20.00

If you don’t think you can make it for dinner, join us for just dessert and awards!  We will have a dessert bar starting at 6:45 PM, followed by the awards ceremony at 7:00 PM.

Winter Guard

Congratulations to our Winter Guard for placing 5th (out of 26!) at their competition last weekend. Please come see our Guard compete with Guards from all across the southeast this weekend in Buford! WGI Competition - March 15-16
