Weekly Band Email - June 24, 2024 - lots of new dates, mark your calendars!


IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Physicals Needed by July 21

Lanier High School requires all student athletes (this includes marching band) to sign consent forms and upload physicals through RankOne.com. To sign consents and upload the physicals, visit www.rankone.com/content/. Click "Parents Click Here" > Forms > Georgia > Gwinnett County Schools. Then review the instructions and click Proceed to Online Forms. On the site, you can find the find the form for your doctor to fill out. Your student can have their physical completed at their doctor's office or at a clinic like Kroger's Little Clinic. Once completed, you will upload the form to Rank One and the school will approve.


REMINDERS

  • Student pick up and drop off is in the student parking lot. Please do not drive down the road by the band room. This should remain clear for students to freely move equipment.
  • If you need to make an arrangement to delay payment, please fill out the attached Financial Agreement form and return it to Mr. Tingle.


Summer Training 

Dress comfortably, wear sunscreen, water, and a snack.

  • 7/15 - Summer Training Days (mandatory, if in town); 9:00 am to 1:00 pm; LHS;
  • 7/22-7/26 and 7/29-8/01 and 8/03 - Band Camp (times vary);

Guard Practices every Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm

Saturday, June 29, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm; at Lanier High School - Plan to finish the columns and start on a ramp and platform; the school will not be open; please feel free to bring fans, tents, coolers, and drinks.

Save The Date - July 20th, 11 AM - All Hands On Deck

Save the Date for "All Hands on Deck" Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 AM. We will gather on the patio outside the band entrance by the picnic tables and enjoy fellowship with our band family, be sure to bring a dish to share. Then we will roll up our sleeves and dig in to kick off an awesome new year! We will be decorating for band camp, assisting Pit Crew, organizing uniforms, concessions inventory and so much more! Don’t miss this great opportunity to help get the season started right! We can’t wait to see you all there!


Guard Parents Meeting - July 20th, 11 AM - Guard Parents Meeting

The Guard parents meeting will be in the commons on July 20th at 11 AM. Guard students are requested to come support our new 9th grade members.


Parents Night OUT!

Join us for PARENTS NIGHT OUT! Meet us at 6 PM on Friday, July 12 outside Central City Grill in Downtown Sugar Hill. Meet other band parents, relax, and enjoy your Friday evening without your children! We hope to see you there!

Volunteers Needed!

Fundraising

Sign up for Kroger's Community Rewards program! Visit Kroger's website to sign up. Search for Lanier Band Booster Association. 4% of your weekly Kroger spend on groceries will be donated to the band automatically!


Summer Shoe Drive - WOODWINDS IN THE LEAD, followed by Drumline, Brass, and Guard! AND we almost have 50 BAGS!

The Shoe Drive officially kicked off today! Each week we will update you on the winning sections. The goal is to collect 25 pairs per marcher. The section that fills all bags provided or more will win a game truck and dinner experience for their entire section!


All shoes are donated to a non profit organization that provides shoes to developing countries to create job opportunities. The band receives $0.50 per pair of shoes shoe collection ends on 7/30. Winners will be announced 7/31. The goal is to collect funds to provide game day meals for the entire band. Donate at band practice or band camp.


Fan Pledge kicks off July 26! This is a telethon-like event where students will make calls to raise money for the band! More info to come, so be on the lookout!
